Who We Are
CC Young is a firm of Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors, regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
We are a leading provider of accounting and taxation services to the music, film and entertainment industries.
The firm was established in 1998 and operates from its office in Holborn.
We have five specialist divisions with over 100 staff across London and Stockholm .
Colin Young
“Educated at Lancaster University, Colin Young graduated with honors in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. He then went on to study as a Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor in the City and received his ACA qualification in 1992, after which he joined one of London’s leading music accounting firms, where he focused on artist and record label accounting. During his time there, he wrote a thesis on taxation entitled “Tax Planning for the Musician/Songwriter”. In 1998, he founded his own practice, C.C. Young & Co., Chartered Accountants, and Registered Auditors, acting for clients in the music and entertainment sectors.”
Karen Bennington
“Karen joined CC Young in 2008, having graduated from King’s College London in 2007 with a BSc (Hons) in Business Management. After qualifying with ACCA in 2012, Karen became a member of the ICAEW in 2019. Karen has headed the Touring and Business Management Department at CC Young since 2015 and has helped to build a thriving department focused on artist development, a proactive and engaged approach to business management and challenging some of the accepted norms in the music industry. Karen’s particular areas of interest are interpreting and advising on the financial obligations of agreements (recording, publishing, live, merchandise and branding), overseas taxation, withholding tax mitigation and touring.”
